Here Comes Peter Cottontail...

So we've recovered from a fun weekend with Jon and Joy and the boys.  And some time with Glenda too.  And an egg hunt with the neighbors.  No wonder I'm still tired!

The girls loved hunting eggs on Sunday morning with the kids next door.  Aunt Joy was even smart enough to give Anna Clare a little head start so she could gather eggs before the big kids swarmed.  This was an actual egg hunt too - no field for of eggs for kids to pick up as quickly as possible.  Oh no!  These eggs were really hidden!  The hunt went on for quite a while and I'm guessing there will be a rouge egg or two discovered days after the hunt.  I will say actually hiding the eggs made it much more fun!

Full baskets of eggs - evidence of a successful hunt!  Anna Clare got sidetracked by the blue buggy after picking up a few eggs.  Oh well!

Post egg hunt fun in the neighbor's backyard!

On another note, the garage is done!  Woohooo!!  Brett is especially happy to finally have the Mustang safely back inside.  It does rain a lot here after all.  And we all know the Mustang cannot get wet!

Even though the girls and daddy think the painted floor is the best part of the garage I love the new bench!  Well hello organization!

Spring in the South!

So we've had a busy 10 days or so since my last post.  I'll try to cover the highlights in a brief post before swim class!

Accomplishment of the month!  Kate learned to swing herself!  Perfect because I'm really tired of hearing "will you push meeee???" (said in the whiniest of tones)  Woohooo!

The garage makeover is complete!  Now the battle is ON because the smooth floor and big empty room makes for a perfect dance studio according to Kate! However Brett wants to keep the garage neat and clutter free for the Mustang. Hmmm wonder who will win out?!?  Even I will admit the garage looks fantastic!

This morning the girls and I went to an Easter Egg Hunt at a local park.  All the "egg hunt practice" in the backyard payed off - Anna Clare knew just what to do!  Both girls had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the chocolate too.  Personally I wish the eggs had contained stickers but whatever!

The girls got to play in a fun new park this morning too!  Here are a few shots I got of the girls, all hyped up on sugar!

This weekend is the annual spring cleaning in Echota for the Faulkner condo. In other words Brett is spending 3 days in our condo getting it super clean for the upcoming summer rental season.  This year Brett has company!  (Kate was not happy when Daddy pulled her out of the car and drove away)

Tomorrow the girls and I head to Georgia to spend the weekend with Jon and Joy and the boys.  They will get to have another fun Easter Egg hunt with the neighbor's kids.  And I've recruited Aunt Joy to help dye some eggs too!

Happy Easter!

Weekend With Friends

This past weekend our Texas neighbors and friends, who now live north of Atlanta, came to visit.  We love the Rockenbachs!  Emmie and Kate are good buddies - when they weren't bickering and fighting they had a ball!  Why is it kids that age have to be so testy with each other anyway?  Kristi and I had a great time watching the kids play and many a glass of wine too!  We only wish Ken had gotten to stick around longer and have some fun with us.  We were sad to see him drive back to Georgia Saturday morning with a sick baby.  Oh well - there's always next time!

We had a super busy 3 day weekend!  We visited parks, played in the backyard, went on walks (scooter rides for the girls), and spent a long day - 6 hours - in downtown Greenville.  I can honestly say that by Sunday we were all completely exhausted!  Here are some pictures of the highlights.

I love this picture of Brett spinning Anna Clare around.  I still remember doing this with my dad when I was little.  She loved it - as did Emmie and Kate!  And Brett got a quite the workout!

Backyard play after Kate's swim class Thursday afternoon.

Scooter riding in the park - the girls were so cute in their flowered dresses with their helmets on!  And visiting a couple of our favorite parks too.  Even Anna Clare and Graham loved climbing around on the little train!

Kristi introduced the girls to what I hope will be Kate's new favorite pastime - hunting for four leaf clovers.  Anna Clare even tried to get in on the action!  Though realistically I know the clovers won't be around long since Kate's daddy is pretty serious about having a perfect lawn again in the near future!

On Saturday we enjoyed a girls day in downtown Greenville!  We walked from one end of Main Street to the other and finally found all the mice.  The little girls had a ball!  The big girls did too - especially the lunch break with no babies to care for!

Finally back at home again!  We're actually using our porch now - we call it the "arts studio" since the girls have all their coloring supplies out there.  This table has been Anna's favorite place to sit since we had it in the playroom in Texas.  It's her favorite big girl seat!
